What is the one thing that would make your academic life easier?
Has an academic community been helpful in your journey as a researcher? Recently, on Think Academia, the academic community was asked to chime in with what might have made their academic life easier. One word, a sentence, a paragraph, whatever came to mind was shared by several respondents. The word cloud below represents the responses from the community that included job security, networking and support systems. One question, and researchers poured in with their thoughts.
Are you a post-doc or an early career researcher? Perhaps you took time off and wish to return to academia? Maybe you are mid-career and are wondering if you made the right choices.
Continuing to engage in productive and supportive conversations amongst the researcher community is essential throughout one's career. At any juncture, there is no need to feel alone or like you might be the only one going through this. In fact, reaching out can help not only in finding others who have faced similar struggles, but also allow one to feel needed. Yes, we each have things to learn, and things to teach! So many valuable lessons gathered in life and career that we may not even realize are priceless! We would love to hear from our readers either in our community, Think Academia, or in our Q&A forum on Editage Insights!
