Michael Upshall is head of sales and business development at UNSILO, the Danish machine-learning arm of Cactus Communications. His publishing experience ranges from compiling dictionaries to editing household manuals and how-to books, before co-founding a reference publisher, Helicon Publishing, invested in by Microsoft and then floated on AIM. He has worked with many publishers on aspects of digital creation and delivery, ranging from Bloomsbury, The IET, and CABI to Cambridge University Press, as well as managing several projects for JISC, the UK association for digital solutions in UK higher education. He has written articles and books (Content Licensing, Elsevier, 2009), and writes a regular column on digital publishing.
