Alice Shannon is a PhD candidate at the University of Limerick. Alice has a BSc in Applied Physics and MSc in Biomedical Device Materials. Her previous research involved developing materials for bone scaffolding and anti-fouling coatings. Her current research involves developing an antimicrobial material for 3D printing feeding tube accessories for people with cystic fibrosis. This research is funded by the Irish Research Council and the National Children’s Research Centre.
Alice enjoys different kinds of food, travelling, and hill walking. She is from Killarney, Co. Kerry which is a beautiful tourist town in Ireland – popular due to the mountains, lakes and many walking trails.
