Editage conducts workshop series at the University of Science and Technology-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (UST), Seoul
Editage conducted a workshop on 19th and 26th October 2019 at the University of Science and Technology-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (UST) campus, Seoul, that facilitated young international researchers on acquiring the critical skills of grant applications.
The workshop was conducted by Rebecca Ambrose, a BELS-certified Medical Editor with Cactus Communications and Basil D’Souza, Vice President, Academia and Publisher Relations, Editage, at the University of Science and Technology-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (UST) campus, Seoul. Our Trainers, Rebecca and Basil, spoke about distinct skills that would help young researchers to identify and apply for funding.
Through the workshop, our trainers covered topics such as; Fund aggregation services that match research topics and personnel to eligible funders, how young researchers should prepare for the grant application process early in their career. They also discussed about Funders who go beyond the funding mandate to enable young researchers to patent and commercialize their technologies.
The central idea behind having a workshop on grant applications was through our key findings, where we realized that fund identification and application take a major mindshare of most researchers.
