Q: What does the status “Under Editor Evaluation” after “Under review” indicate?

Answer:

The status “Under Editor Evaluation” implies that the peer review process is now complete and the Associate Editor (AE) has received the peer review report. Based on the report, the AE can now make a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of the journal on whether to accept, reject , or send the manuscript back for revision. Note, however, that the AE can only make a recommendation and it is the EiC who will make a final decision on the acceptance of your manuscript. Once a recommendation is made to the EiC, the status of your manuscript will change to “Decision in process.”
