Q: Submission of a manuscript after patent registration
Is it acceptable to submit a manuscript of a research result that has been applied for a patent and then published and registered? I'm worried that it could be considered a duplicate submission.
If it is acceptable to submit, or is it possible to compose a manuscript using only patent-registered data? Or do we need to add some new data in the manuscript?
Publishing a paper in a journal and filing a patent application have different purposes. You can publish the patent registered results (with/without new results) in the peer reviewed journal. However, you need to ensure that the patent is cited in the manuscript as required and also this information is disclosed to the journal in the cover letter/ disclosure section.
