Q: Is a template available for the author agreement form that is required during submission?

Detailed Question -

At the revision stage, we added one teacher as co-corresponding author. While submitting the revised version, the editor asked us to submit a formal request with agreement from all authors. Is there any template for this? Should authors sign in English or Chinese?

Answer:

It is not uncommon for the author list to change during revisions of the manuscript. While submitting the revised version, most journals will check if the author list has changed from the original submission. In case of any changes, the corresponding author is required to submit signed author agreement forms from all authors stating that they accept the change.

Most journals have a template for the author agreement form which they usually mail to the corresponding author during submission. It might also be available in the submission system and is specific for each journal. In case you are unable to find it, you can consider asking the editor for this form. The language of the signatures will depend on your target journal. International journals mostly accept English signatures. A region-specific journal might allow signatures in regional language. Again, it would be best to clarify this with the editor.
