From the initial spark of an idea to assist researchers worldwide to a decade-long journey of cultivating a vibrant community, Editage Insights has truly become a hub for researchers around the globe. Reflecting on these last 10 years, I feel proud of what we have achieved. We started out as a platform with the mission to provide authoritative and expert-led resources to empower researchers in advancing their career.
As more and more of you connected with us, your stories and experiences became our compass. Your unique journeys, challenges, and aspirations shaped Editage Insights and made it what it is today - a unique platform where you can connect with fellow researchers to share your views and knowledge as well as seek guidance to help you achieve your goals.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we're thrilled about the milestones achieved together. What made the journey remarkable is your continued support of some of our unique initiatives. We organized 'Shut Up and Write' sessions, fostered the Q&A forum, and shared on our platform your personal narratives as researchers. These endeavors brought the global researcher community together and deepened our understanding about your needs.

I have been associated with Editage Insights in different capacities and at different levels of involvement for around 10 years. I watched the platform being born and built by a small but extremely passionate team. It was a team of individuals whose courage, dedication, creativity, empathy for researchers, and passion for learning I admired deeply.
Over the years, the values and principles of the organization and the team behind Editage Insights have helped it evolve into the comprehensive and multidimensional learning platform it is today. At its core, it’s been an educational resource for researchers on scholarly communication, but it’s expanded to being so much more!
The more we educated researchers, the more we understood them, and the more we sought to learn from them about their lives and careers as researchers and find ways to support them. This has shown in the rich variety of content and activities we host through the platform.
There’s probably much to feel nostalgic about, but among my personal favorite things the Editage Insights team has done are the conversations we’ve had with researchers and other experts in this space and the fun ways in which we’ve packaged learning content that can sometimes feel dry—like producing a song about the correct and incorrect uses of the definite article! Most of all, I feel truly fortunate to have worked (and continue to work) with some of the most talented peers I know, both in-house and freelance.
On its 10th anniversary, my wish for Editage Insights is that it continues to evolve and grow bigger as the needs of researchers and the larger fabric of academia change. And that it serves as a force changing the lives of researchers worldwide for the better, by not just educating and empowering them but bringing their diverse voices to the fore by sharing our own lessons and insights.

My journey with Insights began by posting answers to researchers’ questions on the Q&A forum. Shortly after that, I was invited to contribute a post for Peer Review Week. It wasn’t long before I became a regular contributor. Reflecting on the last couple of years, I feel overjoyed to realize that I have written 22 posts for this platform so far! I have always felt a strong connection with the readers of Editage Insights, having been a researcher myself, back when resources of this nature were not available! I really hope I have made at least a tiny difference in some way!

Not so long ago, it was tough to find good answers online to the questions and issues that bother researchers. Answers to practical questions like “How do I write about the limitations of my study?” or “How do I select a journal?” were often scattered around, and there were far fewer professional development resources. Over the past decade, Editage Insights has grown to become a treasure trove of knowledge that can really reassure new and experienced researchers alike, or even just inform those curious about scientific publishing and research careers.
Editage Insights has also brought attention to important issues in research. The COVID-19 pandemic profoundly impacted—and is still impacting— the research community, but it has started conversations about the many struggles faced by people in academia and research. Editage Insights has done a lot to share their stories and raise attention for ongoing problems like mental health difficulties.
I’m pleased to have contributed to the site in my own small way and I look forward to seeing this team’s hard work continue to add to this project.
