Harriet Lowe is a PhD Candidate in Applied Linguistics at the University of Greenwich in the UK. She is currently researching individual differences in second language acquisition, primarily the role of foreign language aptitude in the field of processing instruction. She is attempting to bring the field forward, utilising eye-tracking to research learners processing of language. Her interest in the field came from teaching foreign languages in England and Italy and has received a CELTA and is currently completing her DELTA. She is an active member of the Centre for Research and Enterprise in Language (CREL) and the British Association of Applied Linguistics (BAAL). She is also a Visiting Lecturer in Applied Linguistics and Academic Skills at the University of Greenwich, in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Academic Writing at the University of Westminster
