BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences, PhD (Dentistry); Research Associate, Cardiff University
Daniel is a postdoctoral research scientist with interests in microbiology; specifically biofilms (think dental plaque) and how microorganisms interact with each other to modulate virulence/infections. His PhD involved investigating interactions between the fungus Candida albicans and a range of oral bacteria in lab-based studies, and using them as infection models. Daniel is also a keen advocate of public engagement and science outreach, delivering his own workshop of microbiology-related activities engaging with school-age pupils and the general public to promote STEM education and in particular the good of microbiology!
