Argonet and Editage partner to offer information management systems for scientific data to South Korean Academia
(February 20, 2017; Seoul, South Korea) Editage, a global leader in author services, and Argonet, a South Korean powerhouse in the information management space, have partnered to provide customized information management technology to South Korean universities. Argonet offers customizable scientific data repository solutions based on DSpace to South Korean universities and institutes in both Korean and English. Through this partnership, Editage will offer Argonet’s customizable information management solutions to its partner universities at a subsidized cost.
Although Argonet offers many services, S2Journal and R2RIMS are two solutions that are the most useful for universities. S2Journal is a one-stop journal information aggregation service that not only helps researchers in selecting a journal, but also helps other university administrators in evaluating a researcher’s performance by analyzing various performance indicators of various journals. R2RIMS is a research performance management solution for institutions that collects, registers, manages, analyzes, and utilizes scholarly performance information based on the research output of institutions. Every university in the world can benefit from the use of these open source scientific data repository solutions.
“Empowering universities, policy-makers, and funders is crucial for the progress of research and development in Korea. Through Agronet’s S2Journal and R2RIMS solutions, our partner universities can access crucial information and analyze the performance of journals and researchers with relative ease. ” said Basil D’souza, Vice President, Publisher and Academia Relations at Editage, Cactus Communications. JongJin Park, CEO of Argonet, also expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership with Editage, “Editage’s partner universities can now obtain our tailor-made information management systems and access crucial information about research articles, journals, funding bodies, and publishers with ease. I am certain that our solutions will not only save time and effort for universities, but will also go a long way in guiding researchers in the right direction.”
With the number of published research articles increasing exponentially over the last few years, the time has already come when big data solutions can help guide researchers, funders, and policy-makers worldwide. This partnership between Editage and Argonet aims to provide comprehensive support to Korean universities, which will eventually enable them to increase their research output and compete with the best universities in the world.
