Cactus Communications ranks 12th in FlexJobs’ 100 Top Companies
with Remote Jobs in 2017
(Philadelphia, PA, USA; February 6, 2017) - Cactus Communications is proud to rank 12th in FlexJobs’ annual list of the 100 Top Companies with Remote Jobs in 2017, up from 15th place last year. This list is based on an analysis of over 47,000 companies and their telecommuting job posting histories during 2016. Only companies offering full- or part-time telecommute jobs were considered for this list. Cactus Communications has finished among the top 20 companies for remote jobs for two years in a row.
“CACTUS is proud to be recognized by FlexJobs as a leader in telecommuting opportunities for the second consecutive year,” said Daniel Rosario, Associate Vice President, Editorial Talent Acquisition, at Cactus Communications. “At CACTUS, we facilitate the sharing of scientific knowledge and best publication practices on a global scale. In line with this mission, we understand the importance of engaging the brightest talent across the globe to provide our clients with the best combination of editorial skill and subject-area knowledge. Workplace flexibility allows us to overcome geographical constraints. Moreover, scientific editing and translation are creative processes that cannot always be boxed into an eight-hour day, so our freelancers and contractors have greater flexibility to pace themselves. In 2017, in addition to freelancing, CACTUS will offer several more fulltime work-from-home opportunities, especially in the medical and scientific editing space.”
CACTUS ranked 15th in last year’s list of companies offering remote jobs and is proud to have gained 3 positions in this year’s list. There has been notable growth in telecommuting in recent years and the movement towards a more remote and mobile workforce is growing stronger. Sixty-eight percent of U.S. workers say, in the future, they expect to work remotely instead of commuting to an office every day. FlexJobs experienced an 11 percent increase in the number of telecommute-friendly jobs posted in its database from 2015 to 2016 and a 52 percent increase over the last two years.
“The results of this year’s list are in line with the overall growth trends we’re observing in the flexible job marketplace, with increasingly diverse companies turning to the ‘TRaD’ (or telecommuting, remote, and distributed) model of work as an integrated business practice,” said Sara Sutton Fell, founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “From an even broader perspective, more people are now professionally engaged in the knowledge economy, which naturally supports jobs that can be done from home. And as more companies embrace remote work in meaningful ways, more people will have greater access to broader career and employment opportunities, creating a positive ripple effect on our economy.”
