The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association launches author services in collaboration with Editage
(December 4, 2017; Rockville, MD, USA) - The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) announced today that it has engaged with Editage to launch author services. The ASHA author services, powered by Editage, are designed to support authors with not only end-to-end pre-submission manuscript preparation, but also post-publication research communication. All the author support services are available at a subsidized cost to ASHA authors. Authors submitting their manuscripts to journals published by ASHA will also have free access to a wealth of educational resources powered by Editage Insights, the author education arm of Editage.

Editage sends Asian journal editors to Europe

American OpenScience partners with Editage to offer author services

Annals of Laboratory Medicine now shares video summaries for articles
(October 31, 2017; Seoul, South Korea) Annals of Laboratory Medicine (ALM) has partnered with Editage to make Video Summaries support available to authors publishing their research articles in the journal. Through this partnership, authors can opt for professional help from Editage to get video summaries created for their research articles published in ALM. The journal will publish the custom-produced videos as part of the article of record in the Table of Contents online and as part of a video gallery on the journal website, and help present published works in an engaging audio-visual format and without paywalls.

Editage offers course on publication ethics free in China
(July 10, 2017; Shanghai, China) - Editage, the global scholarly communications and author services company, announced that it would offer a free course on ethical publication in China for a limited time. Editage Insights, the author education arm of Editage, offers multiple courses on various aspects of publication. The online course titled Avoid retractions: Publish ethically was launched by Editage Insights earlier this year and is offered to authors worldwide for a fee of US$ 98. This course on publication ethics by Editage Insights would ensure that all authors have the basic understanding of ethical publication practices. Moreover, this course would be essential in grooming early-career researchers on good publication practices. By offering this course free in China, Editage has gone a step further in supporting the Chinese government and academia recover from an uncertain situation following the retraction incident.
Editage presents interim results of its author survey at the 2017 CSE and SSP annual meetings
(June 28, 2017; Philadelphia, PA) - The annual meeting of the Council of Science Editors (CSE) was held between May 21 and 23 May in San Diego with the theme “Setting Sail: Navigating the Future of Science Publishing.” The 39th annual meeting of the Society for Scholarly Publication (SSP) was held between May 31 and June 3 in Boston. Over 1000 participants attended the SSP meeting and the theme this year was “Striking a Balance: Embracing Change While Preserving Tradition in Scholarly Communications.” Editage has been actively working towards bridging the gap between authors and journals through their industry-wide author survey that has received responses from over 5000 researchers so far. Editage’s team shared insights, based on their survey’s interim results, at both meetings. Both the CSE and SSP meetings were ideal platforms to present these results and inform journal editors and publishers about the author’s perspectives.
