(December 4, 2017; Rockville, MD, USA) - The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) announced today that it has engaged with Editage to launch author services. The ASHA author services, powered by Editage, are designed to support authors with not only end-to-end pre-submission manuscript preparation, but also post-publication research communication. All the author support services are available at a subsidized cost to ASHA authors. Authors submitting their manuscripts to journals published by ASHA will also have free access to a wealth of educational resources powered by Editage Insights, the author education arm of Editage.

(November 20, 2017; London, UK) - Editage sponsored travel grants for journal editors from Asia to attend the European conference of the International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE) in London, United Kingdom. Michael Willis, President, ISMTE felicitated the winners of the Editage Travel Grants from journals in China, South Korea, and Nepal during the conference.

(October 31, 2017; Philadelphia, U.S.) American OpenScience (AOS), operated by ResearchSwift LLC, announced that it has entered a partnership with Editage, the flagship brand of Cactus Communications. AOS will offer pre-submission manuscript preparation and language editing services, powered by Editage, to authors at a discounted price through their website. The publishing policies of AOS aim to promote open science in research publishing that includes open access, open data, open methodology, and open peer review.

(October 31, 2017; Seoul, South Korea) Annals of Laboratory Medicine (ALM) has partnered with Editage to make Video Summaries support available to authors publishing their research articles in the journal. Through this partnership, authors can opt for professional help from Editage to get video summaries created for their research articles published in ALM. The journal will publish the custom-produced videos as part of the article of record in the Table of Contents online and as part of a video gallery on the journal website, and help present published works in an engaging audio-visual format and without paywalls.

(October 24, 2017; London, U.K.) Cactus Communications recently acquired a new workspace in London, United Kingdom. Although this is the first office set up by the global scientific and medical communications company in Europe, it is CACTUS’ 10th office globally. (September 8, 2017; Philadelphia, US) Editage is covering real-time discussions from The Eighth International Congress on Peer Review and Scientific Publication in Chicago between September 10 and 12. (July 10, 2017; Shanghai, China) - Editage, the global scholarly communications and author services company, announced that it would offer a free course on ethical publication in China for a limited time. Editage Insights, the author education arm of Editage, offers multiple courses on various aspects of publication. The online course titled Avoid retractions: Publish ethically was launched by Editage Insights earlier this year and is offered to authors worldwide for a fee of US$ 98. This course on publication ethics by Editage Insights would ensure that all authors have the basic understanding of ethical publication practices. Moreover, this course would be essential in grooming early-career researchers on good publication practices. By offering this course free in China, Editage has gone a step further in supporting the Chinese government and academia recover from an uncertain situation following the retraction incident. 

(June 28, 2017; Philadelphia, PA) - The annual meeting of the Council of Science Editors (CSE) was held between May 21 and 23 May in San Diego with the theme “Setting Sail: Navigating the Future of Science Publishing.” The 39th annual meeting of the Society for Scholarly Publication (SSP) was held between May 31 and June 3 in Boston. Over 1000 participants attended the SSP meeting and the theme this year was “Striking a Balance: Embracing Change While Preserving Tradition in Scholarly Communications.” Editage has been actively working towards bridging the gap between authors and journals through their industry-wide author survey that has received responses from over 5000 researchers so far. Editage’s team shared insights, based on their survey’s interim results, at both meetings. Both the CSE and SSP meetings were ideal platforms to present these results and inform journal editors and publishers about the author’s perspectives.

(June 19, 2017; Philadelphia, U.S.) - Editage announced travel grants for journal editors from East Asia to attend the 10th Annual North American and European conferences of the International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE). ISMTE’s 10^th Annual North American Conference is being conducted on August 10-11, 2017 in Denver, Colorado, and the 10^th Annual European Conference is to be held on November 9-10, 2017 in London, UK. After the huge success of ISMTE’s 2017 Asian-Pacific Conference in Beijing, Editage wants to continue to support ISMTE in its mission to facilitate a continued open dialogue between editorial offices in the East and the West. Editage Travel grants will be reserved for journal editors from different countries and areas in \ East Asia (China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, North Korea, Mongolia, Hong Kong, and Macau)

The theme for the meeting this year was ‘Global Publication Practices: Advancing Ethics and Scientific Integrity in an Era of Data-sharing’. (May 10, 2017; Philadelphia, PA, USA) The dates for this year’s Peer Review Week have been announced. Peer Review Week 2017 will be held between September 11 and 17 this year. Each year publishers, academic societies, and open science advocators participate in this event to raise awareness about best practices and advances in the peer review process. This year, 29 organizations, including Editage, will be participating in the global event. By being the only English language-editing service provider among the 29 participating organizations, Editage has reaffirmed its commitment to uphold, support, and propagate best publication processes.

(May 8, 2017; Philadelphia, U.S.) Wichtig Publishing and Editage announced the launch of Wichtig author support services today. Authors submitting to Wichtig’s journals will now have access to Editage’s team of medical and scientific editors. Most authors who publish their work in Wichtig’s highly specialized journals are busy physicians and medical researchers. In addition to saving time and effort, Wichtig author support services will help researchers submit a publication-ready manuscript so that peer reviewers and journal editors can concentrate on the science of their study.

AAAS is a leading publisher of cutting-edge research through Science, a family of six respected peer-reviewed journals. Through this partnership, subject-matter experts from Editage will create plain language summaries to help broader audiences find, understand, apply and cite research. In addition to sharing these summaries, researchers will be able to measure the performance of their publications through Kudos’ tools, and track the effect of their efforts to improve visibility.

(April 14, 2017; Shanghai, China) Editage, the world’s leading scientific communications service provider, has ramped up its educational outreach activities in China. In March, Editage Insights, the author education arm of Cactus Communications, conducted nine workshops and three webinars for Chinese authors and journal editors. To assist authors who are not confident with English, five workshops and two webinars were conducted in Chinese.
